By Ryan Guest: The Stoke Potters will get their 2012 speedway campaign underway with a challenge meeting at Loomer Road against the Isle of Wight.

The meeting tomorrow night (March 31) will see newcomers Ashley Birks, Richie Worrall and Dan Berwick make their debuts, while Oliver Greenwood will guest for other new signing Rhys Naylor who is currently on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.

Former Potter Tim Webster, who made a winter switch to rivals Buxton, will make an early return to Loomer Road, as he is guesting for the Isle of Wight at number one in place of Nick Simmons.

Stoke promoter Dave Tattum admits he is confident ahead of the new season. He said: “The lads are all looking forward to Saturday and cannot wait to get going.

“We want to win our opening meeting as we do all our meetings and the lads will be going all out to do that.

“There really is a great spirit in the camp and we all want to do well”.
