By Ash Kabote: Staffordshire Police have handed out 1,500 leaflets in a bid to trace missing Lichfield teenager Tyler Gardener.

Tyler, 18, was last seen leaving the Manitoba nightclub in High Street Burton, at around 12.35am on Sunday February 26.

He had previously planned to stay with family in Burton that night but he left early. It is believed he had the intention to make his way home.

More than 1,500 appeal leaflets and posters have been handed out by officers.

Tyler is white, 6ft, slim with short blonde hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue and white checked long-sleeved shirt and dark jeans.

Detectives and Special Constables were out in Burton town and Lichfield city centres on Saturday (March 3) making inquiries and identifying possible witnesses.

A large 30ft image of Tyler was also projected onto a building in High Street, Burton, in a bid to jog people’s memories and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

Insp Darren Oakey, from East Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said: “The night was successful in raising awareness of our appeal and we spoke to numerous people throughout the evening.

“As the search for Tyler continues, detectives are sifting through the information gathered over the weekend to establish if there are any new lines of inquiry.

“We are keeping an open mind about the possibility Tyler could have made it back to Lichfield but it is still not known if and how he left Burton.

“We have released a CCTV image of Tyler as he walked along High Street, approaching the entrance to the library, shortly after he left the Manitoba nightclub.

“We need to trace his movements after this image was captured and continue to appeal to anyone who may have had contact with him or seen him since.”

Anyone who has seen Tyler or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 374 of February 26.
