By Mel Ramsay: Stoke bikers are preparing for their 34th annual charity egg run this Easter to raise money for underprivileged children.

The event will take place between the Britannia Stadium and Kings Hall, ending with a party, live music and entertainment.

Three separate biker groups are organising the event – the Star Bikers, the PS and an international police-based club called the Blue Knights.

Antony Middleton, 51, Star Bikers Chairman, said: “I think the event improves stereotypical views some people may have of bikers.

“It shows that lots of different people enjoy taking part in charity work.

“If you’re a biker and you’re thinking of getting involved on the day, just turn up. Everybody’s friendly and happy to talk to each other!”

Pauline Carly, 35, a shop worker in Stoke, said: “It’s a well known event, they do it every year and it’s very well received by the locals.

“My ex-husband and my daughter have both taken part. I think it’s fantastic.”

The Star Bikers have been selling wristbands throughout the year, and with good online sales, they will soon be available in local bike shops.

The event takes place on March 25 from 11am. Bikers taking part are asked to donate £2 and an Easter egg.

Entry to the Kings Hall later is £1. Find out more information about the event here.
