By Stephen Sharman: Football veteran Steve Claridge is visiting non-league Nantwich Town as a guest speaker.

The BBC TV pundit will be coming to the South Cheshire club on April 12 to speak to fans about his illustrious career.

Claridge, who has played for clubs such as Birmingham and Portsmouth, is currently playing for semi professional side, Gosport Borough.

Claridge told StaffsLive: “I hope to have a bit of fun with the fans and they’re a good crowd as well.”

Michael Chatwin, Nantwich Town’s business manager, said: “We are looking forward to the evening with Steve.

“It will give him the chance to tell fans the tales of what a colourful career he has had.”

The night will also include a performance from Britain’s Got Talent finalist Les Gibson, who is known for his celebrity impressions.

Tickets, which include a four-course meal, are £35 each.
