Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp fumes at referee after Stoke City defeat
By Michael Perkins: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has blasted referee Chris Foy after his side’s 2-1 defeat against Stoke City.
The Potters brought Spurs’ run of form to an end in a 2-1 win, but Redknapp claimed the referee “was quite enjoying giving us nothing” after a series of decisions went against his side at the Britannia Stadium.
The sending off of Younes Kaboul and the decision to deny striker Emmanuel Adebayor an equaliser because of offside left the Spurs boss furious at the match officials.
“The referee will look at it tonight when his wife’s making him a bacon sandwich and think ‘what have I done there?’” he said.
But Stoke boss Tony Pulis preferred to focus on his side’s performance in the victory.
He said: “Let’s not talk about the referee’s decisions, let’s talk about the football.
“I think it was a cracking game, it must have been a great game for everybody to watch.
“We obviously have come out on the right end of it this week. There have been other weeks where we have played games and decisions haven’t gone for us.”
