Driver killed in latest tragedy on the A518 near Stafford is named

By Sean Morris: A man who was killed after crashing his car on the A518 near Stafford has been named.

Ian Varey, 56, of Liberty Park, Stafford, died after his car went off the road and hit a tree.

Floral tributes and messages were laid to Mr Varey and also to Danny Reynolds who was killed on the same stretch of road this time last year.

The A518 has become a notorious accident blackspot with five people losing their lives on the raod in past ten years.

Police have asked anyone who may have any information to ring Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 325 of 14 November.
